Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 29, 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information Tendplot collects when you use our website and services, how we use that information, and the choices you have. By using Tendplot, you agree to the practices described here. If you have questions, you can contact us at any time using the details at the bottom of this page.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, fill out a contact form, or communicate with our team. This includes your name, email address, and any details you share about your garden such as location, size, and plant types.

When you subscribe to a Tendplot plan, we collect billing information through our payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers. Payment data is handled by our third-party payment processor in accordance with PCI DSS standards.

We also collect certain information automatically when you visit our website, including your IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and pages visited. This information is collected through standard web server logs and analytics tools.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services. This includes creating and delivering your personalized garden plan, connecting you with expert gardeners, and sending seasonal guidance relevant to your location and planting schedule.

We may use your email address to send transactional messages such as account confirmations, appointment reminders, and service updates. With your consent, we may also send marketing communications including gardening tips, product announcements, and promotional offers. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time.

We use aggregated, anonymized data to analyze usage patterns, improve our content, and make product decisions. This data cannot be used to identify individual users.

Garden Photos and Support Requests

When you submit photos of your garden for expert review or plant health support, we store those images on secure servers to facilitate your support session. Photos are accessible to the Tendplot expert assigned to your request and to our internal support team.

We may retain support photos for up to 12 months after your session closes to allow follow-up and to improve the accuracy of our plant identification systems. We do not use your photos for advertising or share them publicly without your explicit permission.

If your photos include identifiable people or property, please ensure you have appropriate permission before submitting. You can request deletion of your photos at any time by contacting us.

Cookies and Analytics

Tendplot uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate our website, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors interact with our content. Essential cookies are required for core functionality such as maintaining your login session. These cannot be disabled without breaking the service.

We use analytics tools to measure site traffic, page performance, and user behavior in aggregate. Analytics data helps us understand which content is most useful and where the experience can be improved. Analytics cookies are optional and can be declined through your browser settings or a cookie consent banner where applicable.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or sell data to advertising networks. For a full list of the cookies we use, see our Cookie Policy.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only with the third-party service providers necessary to operate Tendplot — including our payment processor, email delivery provider, cloud storage provider, and analytics platform. Each of these providers is bound by data processing agreements that restrict their use of your data.

Gardening experts on the Tendplot platform receive the information you share when booking a session — including your name, garden details, and any photos you submit. Experts are contractually obligated to keep this information confidential and use it solely to provide your requested service.

We may disclose information when required by law, in response to a valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Tendplot or its users. In the event of a business acquisition or merger, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to continued protection under this policy.

Data Retention

We retain your account information and garden data for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward to allow you to reactivate. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Billing records are retained for a minimum of seven years to comply with financial reporting obligations. These records contain the minimum information necessary for compliance purposes and are stored securely with restricted access.

Your Choices

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. You can update most account information directly in your Tendplot account settings. For requests that cannot be completed through self-service, email us at privacy@tendplot.com.

You can opt out of marketing emails by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing message or by updating your notification preferences in your account settings. Opting out of marketing does not affect transactional messages related to your account or active subscriptions.

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection law, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
